Week 11!

VIII looking for 8s
Hey all. I have been involved in a body-building fitness routine at the local health club for 11 weeks now! I have been going 4 times per week consistently and am trying to make this not a hobby, but more so a way of life. I have put forth great effort to vastly eliminate the fast-food diet that I was getting addicted to and eat healthier. My acid reflux which I have dealt with over the last recent year or two has pretty much gone away! :D I am excited about how well things are going and I have seen some nice gains just in a short amount of time. I take a protein supplement twice a day along with my regular diet and drink tons of water. I am the "hard gainer" body type except for that ugly belly I was starting to get.

I am excited for Week 24, but I just work it one day at a time. :)

Good for you focusing on your heath.

I started weight watchers for men on line last week, drooped 3.5 lb so far on the point system. It is teaching me how to eat proper and with proper portions. But i will spare people topples photos of me.

Next i need to start the physical activity again, i have a YMCA 1.5 miles from me, so i hope to join up in the near future.

Good for you, Kirk and Steve! :) Wendy and I just quit our membership at the gym recently. We were going 5 days a week at one point. We tried every machine in there for a year, and decided that the treadmill was the only machine we needed for us. Our new treadmill will be delivered in the next couple days to the house. :)

No special diet - eat what I want, when I want. I lost 50 pounds that I gained after I quit smoking thanks to the tread mill running 2 1/2 miles a day in about a half hour. lol Not bad for a old man - run forest run... :)

Now that the weather is nicer here and the days longer i will go for walks. Walking for an hour about 5 days a week helped me a lot before.

+1 on the nice weather fitness. I've got all three bicycles tuned up, but have yet to make it out for a ride of any length. I have been riding one to and from work, but that's really only 1.2 miles or so each way. It hardly counts. :)

Oh, and now we're apparently expecting more snow here..

...nowhere close to evening out that Chipotle Burrito I just had for lunch. :D

Congrats guys. Working out is more of a mental struggle than anything. Just getting yourself to do the workout is the hardest part. I used to hate running, then I went to the academy and had to run 5 miles 3-4 days a week plus a 30 minute P90X type workout before. Now I absolutely despise running. Lol!

I am pretty mental. You got that right! :D

+1 :d

You are BUFF! A lot of gray hair though. :p I didn't realize treadmills work out your arms so much.

So if I continue smoking, I can keep an extra 50 pounds off? :p

But seriously, I feel like Jabba the Frikkin' Hut as it is. I've never been this fat in my life, nor more miserable. Good luck guys.

lol Just finished breakfast, and thinking about getting on that treadmill for the first time. Hope I put it together correctly

It is working very well. Great motor function, smooth running surface action :)

The built in 2 speed cooling fan is not worth even turning on though. What is it with me and cooling fans? First The Mark, and now the treadmill... lol :)

I have not tried the ipod player yet. I watch tv instead.

In all, I think it is very close to the same work out as the gym machine I used.

ok, so here's a question. I have a fairly long stride. On every treadmill I've ever used, I find myself constantly stepping on the plastic shroud at the front of the belt. It may be difficult to gauge, but does this one appear prone to such things?

Maybe you have short arms and you are too close to the front :D

Thread revival! lol :p

So, I don't know where I'm at now. Week 25 or somewhere in there? I've had bout 3 weeks off total since I started due to a vacation, funeral, and being slightly under the weather for a few days. Anyhow, it's going well and with my insurance kicking in from Medica now, it's only $12.32 per month. :D

I recently started a push/pull/legs split routine which hits the muscle groups twice a week rather than once a week, and the days are different every week because of the way the schedule is broken up. I'm going to go with it for now and see how that works.

Here is the routine:

The Push/Pull/Legs Split

Monday: Chest, Shoulders and Triceps

Tuesday: Back, Biceps

Wednesday: off

Thursday: Legs

Friday: off

Saturday: Chest, Shoulders and Triceps

Sunday: Back, Biceps

Monday: off

Tuesday: Legs

Wednesday: off
