been a while since ive posted here. anyone that doesnt know me, im a former mark owner that can be seen in the members rides section. just do an advanced search for "jeep" and you'll see my final shots of my old mark. i guess im back in the market for one of these fine automobiles except im on the hunt for a gen2 this time. i was gonna do the camaro thing for a cheap, fast, easy to mod car and didnt even consider the mark (not sure why). then my girlfriend reminded me just how much i still remenisce (however its spelled) about my old lincoln and suggested i look into another one. this time, unlike my 1st venture into the mark, i know what to look for. hopefully i can hunt down a gen2 with a light graphite interior, low miles, blend-door repaired, j-modded, preferably lsc for around $5-6k. this time im gonna keep it as a summer car and keep my jeep for winter use. im looking to get it into the 12's too. thats top priority.

so what'd i miss while i was gone?

RE: whats up people?

well what are low miles to you??? for 5-6k you will have trouble finding something with less than 100k. What you're looking for will probably cost you around 7-8+ if it is in decent shape. Didn't miss out on much around here.

RE: whats up people?

So great to hear that you're back for another one! Good luck finding it.

RE: whats up people?

I'll let mine go for 9k if you're interested. fresher paint, j-modded, 109k now, '97, 3200 stall, 4.10's, headers, cobra intake, MMC driveshaft, etc. etc. Also all reciepts and timeslips (13.9's). buy the nitrous kit that's for sale in the classifieds section and you'll be going 12's.

dave, u seriously looking to get rid of your car? or is this one of those, if anyone offers me that kind of cash they can have it type deals?

RE: whats up people?

Hi Paul! Good luck with the search. You just missed a real nice Mark VIII already modded out, advertised here and finally sold cheap on eBay, but it was a Gen1. But hey, they're faster anyways. ;)

it's a little bit of both. I don't drive it in the winter, and all summer i've been traveling. When i'm home i need to drive my suburban to tow my boat. If i can get rid of my lincoln, and trade the suburban in on a diesel pickup, i think i'll be better off. Then maybe i can buy an older lincoln on the cheap and treat it like joe treated the "red whore".

the price i'm asking is a couple thousand bucks over book value. not a bad deal considering it's been garaged winters, has fresh paint, absolutely no dings, and the most desireable and effective bolt-ons, with no nitrous or superchargers to really wear the engine. If it doesn't sell, it doesn't sell.

plus i think i'm about to move somewhere without a garage. if i sell the car i can avoid having to rent a garage for the winter, as well as eliminate a payment. although a diesel truck would probably be a bigger payment anyway.

I've honestly driven the car once, to and from work, in the past 3 weeks.
