Wheels, directional?

On a Mark VIII What is meant by direction wheels? Is it only cosmetic or are these wheels only designed for certain sides of the car?
 
Appearance ... doesn't it look dumb to see the Chrysler vehicles that have the 'turbine' type wheels rotate the "wrong" way on one side of the car?

I am also using directional tires as well as wheels...drives the 'free rotation' people nuts!!
 
All you need for proper tire life is a good 4 wheel alignment and front to rear and rear to front rotation.

Which reminds me, it's time for the spring alignment and tire rotation. ;)
 
When I bought my mark the wheels were on the wrong side. I forget who, but someone here pointed it out in my first picture posted. I have never had a car with directional wheels before and it did not look strange until I was told. Now I see them backwards on alot of the cars driving around.

Yea I love it when it's all done and I point out, "you guys have my directionals on the wrong side of the car." Of course now I have to wait another 30+ minutes to get it in, get it right.:eek:
