The new owner of the Magnum just call and said the transmission just went out.
How can that happen?
I had the damn thing rebuilt twice. The owner of the shop said I put this transmission in higher HP cars. I guess that was a lie.

The First rebuilt.
Brand new double sided clutches.
Add more clutches to each gear.
Rebuild the value boby and new solenoid.
and more.
1 year warranty
The shop owner said the torque converter is fine.
Cost $2600

Second build (torque converter went out and took the tranmission out).
had 3 brand new clutches put in the torque converter.
Replace 1st gear and 4th gear.
Freshen the tranmission up.
Cost $1600

FU#$ING PI$$ED ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Warranty?

That's why I keep my car as stock as possible. Every time I did something aftermarket on the mark it drew a lot of side-effects. That much extra power was bound to break something...

BTW those rebuilds are on the cheap side... shouldn't a good one cost around 4k?

Max is right...not enough money spent.

I spent around $4k on tranny and TC from Lonnie for my fairly stock Mark.

For 700hp, I'd say at least $5k, maybe more.

Whoa well... run... with the money.

That what I was going to do.
I dont get this guy. He has a 1970 dodge charger with a built 426 and a Dodge truck with a built engine.
How the hell is this car kicking his ass?
He starting to piss me off.

Is there any provision in your state's law that would allow this person to come back at you with the car?

I would guess that TX law is all you would have to worry about...

Is there even any law down there? :D
If not I could loan you some good Massachusetts law...
we've got plenty to spare up here :D

it's widely known that when you smoke a trans.. the convertor needs to be replaced.. OR sent back to the manufacturer to be checked out, disassembled, cleaned..ect.

The shop owner did you NO favors by "reusing" a torque convertor that came out of a blow'd up trans.

Even the transmission cooler could have caused the second failure if it wasn't replaced.

Good thing your rid of that POS Glen, it was either gonna kill you in repairs.. or simply kill you

That what I was going to do.

There is a HUGE difference between a 1970's carbed car..and the car you sold.

NO WONDER the carb guy is pitching a fit...he cant find anyplace to stick a screwdriver to tune the car.

This is a good point. Something that I would do as routine when we rebuilt transmissions could be over looked by others. We ALWAYS flush the coolers out and put in NEW converters anytime the transmission takes a dump.
