Registered
WFC8 will be held in St. Louis from May 12 - 15th. (Thurs - Sun)

The following is the information for the hotel block:

Hotel Info:

Drury Plaza Hotel
4th & Market St.
St. Louis, MO
314-231-3003

make sure to mention your with the LOD group. It may actually be listed under Leitner, Jay Lincoln Group but all they really need is the group #.

Group #605258

In addition all the queen delux rooms were booked allready. There are 10 king rooms blocked at the $89 rate. If you are going to share a room, and need 2 queens ask for the queen delux room with a view. Then post here or send me a PM to let me know and I'll go back in and change your rate.

The cutoff date for the negotiated rate is May 1st.

If you have any other questions please ask.

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

Cancel by 6PM the day of arrival and there is no charge to you at all.

In addition we can do a 6PM hold on your reservation without a credit card as well. (basically if 6PM comes around on the intended day of arrival and you have not yet arrived your room is released)

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

Jay, I made reservations for the queen. Please change the rate for me, it's $166! You sure got us a good deal!

Actually, you may want to double-check the group rate too, the woman I talked to gave me a different rate even for the group.

Thanks so much for setting this up.

For those who want more info on the hotel: http://www.druryhotels.com/properties/druryplazahotel.cfm
There are many benefits to staying there: Free drinks at night, free breakfast, free internet (there's a computer in a separate room in the lobby that you can use if you don't have a puter to bring with), looks like free phone calls, frige in room with 2 cans of soda and popcorn. And the restaurant/bar in the hotel was fantastic!

I'll be coming in on Thursday, May 12. I would like to know who will plan on coming in when, so we can figure out if we should set up some sort of reception or something.

Still waiting for more info on WFC8 - in terms of whether or not we can pre-register (that would probably have to be done in conjunction with TCCoA). Their usual way of handling WFC is to have everyone register as they get there, which isn't a problem, it just means people get assigned parking spots to show as they show up.

If you want more info, check out www.worldfordchallenge.com. Although it's not changed for information for this year yet, you can get some information on the classes for racing, and what types of things go on at this event.

Again, Mark, Jay and I had a great time showing last year while we got to watch Keith race his Mark.

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

I didn't stay at that hotel when i was in St. Louis, but i met Jay there. It is a damn nice hotel.

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

Sharon, your rate has been changed to $89.99 per night. We have quite a few different room types, not all of them were set to $89.99. Thats probablly where the misunderstanding came in.

Sharon, your rate is changed to $89.99. If you would like I'll take a screen shot and then email it to you if you need it for confirmation.

Any others that book and aren't given the group rate let me know.

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

Thanks Jay. No problem, I'm sure you have it taken care of. Yes, I definitely got one of the rooms that wasn't in the block, because I needed the 2 beds. Still don't know, but the Kid may join me and show his Mustang.

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

OK, who else will be staying there? The WFC8 site is updated!!!

Looks like entry fee for having your car judged (which includes a 4 day pass to the event) will be $70. Last year they only accepted cash. I wrote to them asking about group registration. They charge $50 for a 4 day pass, so it's only $20 more to enter your car for judging, and you get GREAT parking spots. :)

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

Sweet! Looks like the Mark VIII will have its own show class both stock and modified? :D

I can't tell - but I did ask them if we could have our own category this year. If I hear anything back from them, I'll post. Otherwise, we should talk to the organizers early in the meet, and get our classes figured out.

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

Woo Hoo!!!! Got an e-mail back from WFC:

"That will not be a problem. Although we would need to know the total amount of cars that you going to pre-register in order to hold the spots together. Please email us the information and we will be more than happy to set it up for you."

I had asked to pre-register and also to have our own judging category! Looks like it's a go.

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

the cutoff date for the group rate is approaching. Your reservation must be made by May 1st to get the LOD rate.

Sure hope there will be more people there this year. Also do remember that you can make the reservation and still cancel with no penalty if you find out later you are unable to make it.

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

Alright, I got a room reserved. They wanted to charge me $150 something, but I finally got them to take the $89 rate.

Jay, any chance you could get me a smoking room? All they had was non-smoking. I don't care if it's a broom closet with a cot, as long as it has an ashtray.

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

Yeah Jay, same here. The wife is gonna get a little fidgety after a couple days in a non-smoking room! :7

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

Not a problem Mark. When we did the block we only blocked non smoking rooms. I will go back in a change it. :)

RE: World Ford Challange - St. Louis

I'll get you changed as well. Won't be till Thursday though. Thats when I go back in to work again. Would you guys like a screen shot of your reservation or anything? The confirmation number will remain the same.

Yes please, the wife had to read the printout of the details I gave her to the clerk before we got the group rate. We may need a signed declaration by the manager to change anything now.

Thanks Jay. :)
