Year End review

RE: Year End review

I'm not sure. I'm currently evaluating the intake and headers along with some suspension improvements. There's plenty to keep me interested through the next season naturally aspirated.

I think the combination of intake and headers has the potential to pickup 0.25 seconds in the ET and about 2.5 mph in the traps. Realistically that should get me down in the 13.6xx range. I'd like to think mid 13s, but right now I think that may be a little too optimistic.

Particularly given the fact I've found traction and launch issues become much more an issue with decreasing ETs. Look at the following charts and I'm sure you can tell where the car got better but the driver got worse. ;)

There is at least .25 in headers and an intake. Headers will be your best mod to date. Get a 2" shortened runner cobra intake and that will net quite a bit of HP as well.

Is that due to working the stall, and staring at the tach instead of your focus on the tree? It would be nice if there was a device that would dial-in your stall, mat the gas, and it would disengage when you let off the brake. I have never tried to stall the Mark during a launch. For all I know, there could be a tenth or two either way...

I only tried to stall the converter the last few times, so staring at the tach is not the whole explanation. With the converter and chip it changed the launch initially due to lack of traction and my distraction trying different launch methods to achieve traction. Then once I thought I had a handle on traction I became more concerned about sixty foot times than R/Ts.

I think I just need to practice more getting a new rhythm down.

I think the pros do have electronic devices to assist in launches where it is allowed.
