Carlisle 2010 Suggestions?

Yep, just saw the list and agree with what JP said. Basically, we pre-registered just about everyone we could, and those who didn't pre-register but were with our club, their spaces should have been covered by those who didn't show. My calculations additionally show that we were most likely shorted on Mark VIII parking in class, as I assume at least one or two of the other Mark VIII's that were there were pre-registered.

Now, we can work with the LCOC to get pre-registers (the guy representing their club says he has a hard time getting club members out for the event), and I assume John Dancy gets his group to pre-register, but like JP said, those with no club affiliation -- I have no idea how to even contact them.

I wonder if Carlisle's decision not to send mail for registrations hurt this year. Not everyone checks online.

LOL. ... And IIRC, you tried to pre-register closer to the show but you weren't able to.

Close, I wasn't sure I was even going to come until pre-registration had already closed, as Carlisle was already Joe and I's third vacation in 09. I'm not sure where I would rank Carlisle compared to the Bahamas/Caribbean and Williamsburg, VA. :p I don't plan on going to the Bahamas/Caribeean or Williamsburg again in 2010.....so figure that one out for yourself.

So I'm nearly 100% sure I'll preregister next year and I'll support/help with any other suggestions the more seasoned members come up with.

We need to work with the LCOC and the Mark VII club and see if we can use Lincoln solidarity to influence the Carlisle staff. Any creative ideas on this?

We could also try to recruit more at the event. At the very least we need to put together a 'welcome' team that would actively seek out these non-affiliated Lincolns and introduce them to the club. Perhaps we could put together a small 'introductory' gift package with a couple LOD cards, a flyer, an application and perhaps a token gift (LOD pen, bottle opener or something like that).

Or we could hire a couple of models to stroll through the Lincoln section oggling the vehicles and hawking the club benefits. :D

"Ohhhhhh... look at this nice one! That would be a nice addition to the club! I so love that color!"

I'm not very good at explaining club benefits, as we saw this year. ;)

But, I can work on some sort of write up which lists the member benefits which could be handed out.

At the local club we used to belong to, we had pre-made flyers we would carry around any show or cruise-in we attended. Whenever we saw a car that didn't belong to one of our members, we simply dropped one of our club flyers onto their car seat (or under their wiper) for them to find when they returned to their car.

We could add some notes at the bottom of a flyer for the LOD about being welcome to stop by our tent to meet some of our members at Carlisle.

The all you could drink beer one year seemed to be a pretty good incentive :D

I like the model idea, you have them pass out the flier and tell the perspective new member to drop by for a beer,i bet that would bring them around:)

What would be the required model outfit? Skimpy short-shorts (top optional) or two-piece bathing (business) suit????

DOM Bud

Well i think we would have to check with the promoters and see what they will allow, but i like the top optional idea
