Something knocking inside my valve cover!

Update: It's dead. Pretty sure a valve fell down into the cylinder. Engine is siezed. Oops. Not sure whether I'll fix it, scrap it, sell it or part it out.

Bummed... sorry to see a Mark VIII go like this. :(

I hope you fix it.

I'm bummed too. I love the car, just not sure if I have the time or money or patience to fix it. It actually has sentimental value to me, it was my mother's car, and she recently passed away. I wanted to hang on to it. I fell in love with that car the day she brought it home.

Fix it! It's paid off and doesn't cost anything to hold on to while you save up money. Take it off the insurance and start collecting parts.

Probably a good idea.

I am probably going to tow it to my house soon and start disassembling it. I know it's worth a lot for scrap or parts, but I'd rather not.

You did see Mad1stgen's post, right?

You seem to really want to keep the car, and lightly used engines amongst us Mark VIII club members seem to be readily available...

Either that or a cylinder head, depending on how bad I damaged the piston, I suppose. Not sure I'd trust myself getting the timing right if I swapped a head though. I was trying to buy another Mark VIII last week, but the person never texted me back.
