Pullied 3 - Another total makeover

Fab up a trap door.
I doubt I'll go that far. If you remove the two screws that hold the liner to the bumper cover, you can pull it back, and easily reach in there to get the filter out.
At least it's out of the elements. Oil change is probably something that will be done once or twice a year on this car anyway ;)

Nice Job though. I will need to learn how how to set-up the remote filter. I hate snaking that filter out every time. Are those hoses an off the shelf item?

Thanks man. Not sure if it all be done to my liking by then ... still want to get some seat time
You're welcome! Well I'd love to see it if it's to your liking in time :D

My cousin is making his first ever trek to Carlisle this year. He lives in Clarkston MI and is bringing his MKZ down. I'm having him register with LOD. He worked for Ford as an engineer for 10-15 years or so. Towards the end it was with Lincoln so maybe he has some good stories to share with us all. ;)

Get a chance to measure DS?.....63.5?
I finally had a chance to do this last week, and ordered the driveshaft, a tried and true local Dynotech. T6061 slip spline design, on the transmission end.

63.6875" Flange Face to Face as Dynotech calls it. The precise measurement is critical so that the slip spline ends up exactly where it's designed to be.

I picked it up yesterday. It's a bit longer that stock driveshaft (U-joint to u-joint) but the effective distance is almost the same.

Looks like the car might leave the garage on its own this weekend :D

Thanks!
All the info some poor fool could want for a 5 speed swap.
I wish I could go for a ride when it hits the street.
FUN !! :)

This car is amazing!

It's totally rebuilt. The interior, powertrain, suspension, and body.

All the best parts too.:)

This is a minor detail but which headlight kit did you install?
I buy hid kits locally ... GT HID or something like that. IMO, pretty much all the $50-$100 kits are similar. You have to step up to original Bosch or Matsushi_ta ballasts and true Phillips bulbs to get real quality.

Having said that, none have been installed yet. Lights are the least of my worries right now ;)

Last few days I've been spending couple hours here and there, working out some little details to make the car fully driveable.

I wired the reverse light switch, and the clutch pedal starter bypass, so that you won't accidentally crank the engine in gear.
It's amusing how the trans wiring got so simple, from 30+ wires and two main plugs, down to 4 wires ;)
I also sealed the trans tunnel temporarily with some Dynamat, while waiting for aluminum panel.

Finally, I installed the FRPP calibrator to take care of the speedometer sensor. This devices scales down the pulses from the magnetic sensor on this new TR-3650 to mimic the pulses sent out by the original gear driven 4r70w sensor. After figuring out the ratio (even taking into account the 25.7" tires), I set the dials to 024 and the speedometer is DEAD on with my GPS. Already registered 30 miles of driving. What can I say ... this car is very promising so far, and as Charlie (RoadBoss) says ... the whine is FINE :D

Next couple of weeks will be somewhat busy: need to work out the exhaust details, hub swap, big brakes, and new wheels.

Ahem! *COUGH - COUGH*

I'm 20 minutes away! Te olvidaste de mi? (That's Spanish).

Here I have plenty of good insulation but the other stuff was used. Oh well, it's temporary like you wrote! I'd like to see it and hear it!
