Pullied 3 - Another total makeover

PC is good for polishing simple buffing mistakes, but it wasn't enough for this car. The cover that was used did a number on pretty much all the panels.
Keith at IceNine wetsanded the hood, and buffed the rest of the car. It definitely brought it back to life.
The rear bumper cover was also repainted as apparently it was done few years back already and paint was peeling after removal for all the work in the area.
I hope to have the front cover done as well, mainly to delete the license plate mounting holes.

I hope to have the intercooler plumbing finished later this week, as well as some more work on the brakes, hubs, and wheels.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that you fixed the paint with the porter cable; the first post you mention Keith at IceNine.
And for what it's worth, if you sell the car many states (like Mass) require the front license plate. Can't get an inspection sticker without one and cops will pull you over if they don't see one.

Wow.

I remember helping you pull a trans in a small garage in Hamtramck several years ago. I thought that was the first time you had done a trans, maybe I was wrong. With the quality of the work you're doing now... just wow!

M-2300-X Brembo 4-piston calipers, first a "before shot". To better match this project ;), they were fully stripped of the original ugly black paint, powdercoated flat wrinkle gray, all caliper hardware CAD plated, bright red Brembo logo applied. Not sure if I should install them, or hang them on a wall

You have no idea how often we joke about that swap with Martin. We have come a long way for sure, but the stuff you learn lying on the 20 deg cold cement floor, fighting every single bolt, swimming in Mercon fluid, sniffing fumes from the kyrosene heater ... oh joy, I'll never forget that. The damn car wouldn't fit straight in the garage, it was parked at an angle. I think that was one of the very first things I have ever done on a mark viii, it was over 10 years ago believe it or not.

I hadn't even owned a Mark in nearly that long until February. ;) Now that I have one, it needs to become this one! :D

I like the way you have made this car look as if everything is stock. The detail even down to the hose clamps and the complete lack of shiney stuff!!

Jeremi, you give me inspiration to move forward and do what I can to continue with my small builds. The garage story sounds like most of us trying to do what we love to do in the poorest of conditions just because.

Thanks

Since I am getting close to strap this thing to the dyno, I went back into the gas tank, and deleted the PPRV system (first pic on the left) to remove any potential flow issues. I installed the Aviator 285lph fuel pump I had lying around previously thinking the stock pump was dying. It must've been really dead as there is no backflow issues even without PPRV now. Couple pictures of the pump, and the wrinkle black coated tank shield. BTW, I love the simplicity of a 1st gen tank setup

I was also able to finish the hub and brake swap on the rear.
Old hubs vs brand new 5x4.50 hubs. Seeing as those things rust regardless of their high price, I had them CADed as well ;) New FRPP Timken bearings pressed in. Ed's caliper relocation bracket in place, all hardware coated, DBA rotors installed.
