    FS: 1998 Mark VIII base

would like to add that it is NOT the oil cooler gasket. That was the first thing we checked and replaced. It COULD be the oil cooler itself but I have no way of testing or replacing that.

    FS: 1998 Mark VIII base

Selling my 1998 Mark VIII base. Would prefer to sell the complete car and not part it out. Something is going on with the engine. Acting like a blown headgasket or cracked head. A few weeks ago it started spewing oiliy brown gunk out of the reservoir. The car is in fair condition. It was...

    Glitch adjusting question

okay, thanks, I will try it this weekend. Right now the parking light, and brake light are the same intensity as far as I can tell. When the parking lights are on, and the brake pedal is pressed, I can't see a difference. I know it is working. It is on with parking lights on, and it is on...

    Glitch adjusting question

Okay, I did a search and didn't find what i'm sure is a simple answer. I'm feeling totally blonde on this one and I KNOW I should know this. I got the glitch inverter to fix my flickering rear neon on my 1998 raggedy lincoln. Installed it and it works but it needs to be adjusted. I see the...

i literally have $1 in my bank account and I don't get paid til the 9th. Fortunantly, my mom loves me and picked up oil, filter, gasket, and coolant. I didn't get the sensor but I can do that another day. For now, I just need to be able to drive since my Lincoln is my only source of...

    is my Lincoln dead?

okay i got the car home thanks to a loving uncle. it looks like the leak is coming from between the oil filter and power steering pump. Main thing is the car is home and I can start digging into it. How difficult is this job to do? I will do a search, but if someone could point me towards a...

    is my Lincoln dead?

Okay, 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII base. To cut a long story short, went to walmart (mistake number 1). Car was driving perfectly. No noises, no shakes or rattles. Better than ever. Get to walmart and when we got out smelled burning oil. Did our shopping, got back in, started the car, and the...

Okay, I can't find my book of wiring diagrams to save my life, so I need some pointers. 1998 Mark VIII, base, non LSC. Sunday, I pulled the dash to fix the AC heat door thingie. Put everything back together, and everything was working fine. Drove to the local convenience store to get a drink...

    Telescoping problem

no, the book is on my "to get" list still. The tilting works fine, but the telescoping is all the way out and will not go back in. There is no play in the column at all, but would like for it to work correctly.

    Telescoping problem

First of all, I did a search, and all the threads I found, the links came up either not found, or lead to what looks like a site that no longer works, and goes to a weird search thing. I want to take apart my steering column and see if it is fixable, and hoping to find a good write up, but the...

Pop noise after front end work.

Hmmmm, I bought them from Autozone. Duralast Strut rod bushings, part number is FA7193 I had a hell of a time getting the old one off on the drivers side. The passenger side was fairly easy, but the drivers was a REAL pain.

I replaced both upper and lower control arms, Sway bar end links, Rear strut rod bushing on my 1998 Mark VIII base and now have a noise that is bothering me. Sometimes, when turning the steering wheel from hard Right all the way to the left, I will hear a pop noise from the drivers side. The...
