Another Hornblasters Train Horn Installation.

Finally (after 3 years) was able to install my train horns again! Got everything installed into the Prairie Tan just to find out that the cylinder on the air compressor was bad. Opened it up and the piston ring (made of rubber) was completely hard from sitting for so long.

Ordered a twin 450 Valair compressor set and installed em in the trunk. Installed the horns above the mufflers like on my 95. I like this install better because I have more trunk space where as in the 95 I had the huge speaker box running two 15" subs.

What do you think?

Compressors, Tank, Sub, Amp. All the wiring/valves/air lines are run through the board and behind the back seat.

It's about time you got those mounted up and back on the road. We'll be watching for some of your "drive by's".

LoL! I already have the valves ordered...gonna use the setup for a standalone fast bag system but keep the stock air ride too. It's already wired up that way but it uses the stock valves. Now that I have the compressors and tank, valves were all I needed.

Don't hate if you don't understand. Loud horns ARE legal...it's HOW you use it. ;)

Very nice!

I love loud horns, especially when they sound like a train.

My MG had horrible little beep horns. My old Buick Riviera had nice loud horns.

When I junked the Buick, I put the horns in the MG.:D

People don't expect those horns from the MG.:)

I've been around a long time so I can remember when cars switched from 6 volt systems to a 12 volt systems. A lot of my buddies & I did conversions meaning putting a Cad engine in a Ford (Fordilac) or like in my case putting an Olds engine in a 37 Chev (Chevmobile) for instance. We'd also convert the cars to 12 volt systems.

The reason I bring this up is, you should hear what a 6 volt horn sounds like with 12 volts going through it. :)

So how feasible would be to use this extra tank and compressor to help out the air ride in some certain condition (slammed to full height for example) ?

I would argue Disorderly Conduct or Disturbing the peace for that video posted. But I know J would use his responsibly

Well that is the plan, the issue with tapping into the stock valves would be the small line size. I'll be adding aftermarket valves and 1/2" line. I'm sure I could rig something up but functionability would be tough.

I used a big external tank to air up the mark viii suspension thru a spider valve (stock line sizes retained) on many occasions. It was FAST. The stock compressor lacks volume. But of course with 1/2 lines it would be awesome.

Oh, and thanks for the muffler hanger shots. I need to redo the ones on the black car ;)

Yeah I think the spider valve would help integrate the right hardware/fittings. Sounds doable.

You're welcome, let me know of you need more. Maybe we can trade pictures...exhaust hangers for sunroof parts?
