This is from my 97, although I've done this on my green 94 as well.
I carefully pulled the mirror off, it snaps off easily, but be careful, the heater and dimming wires are short. Then I unplugged the wires.
Then I cut the rubber rim around the mirror off, and cut the wire off of it with some side cutters. Then I removed the outer glass cover, and cleaned all the cloudy (Mirrorcon V ) fluid off of the mirror.
I actually had a spare good mirror that I just swapped in, but now I have a spare without the fluid, in case I need it in the future. I'll probably run a bit of RTV around the edge to seal the mirror.
