That's really interesting. Probably overkill for mine however, having just one cylinder to work with. Now you've got me thinking about the Jeep though. :)

It's overkill for mine too! You could modify the shutter wheel so it only have one opening =) It would be the baddest single cylinder engine around!

I'm planning on pulling the engine this spring to replace the gaskets and oil seals, it really needs it. If I find the compression is low I might just fully rebuild it. I'm even considering chopping the head 0.060 or so to bump the compression up since it's only 8:1...now that is overkill!!

Here are a couple of pics as promised. It seems to run well, I won't really get a good feeling for the difference until I go to move some heavy wet snow. With the advance working and the timing jitter eliminated there has to be an improvement, never mind the larger spark gap (0.045 up from 0.025) and significantly higher coil output.

If this engine crapped out and I couldn't get rebuild parts for it or it was severely damaged I would definitely look at what would fit back there. A small block Chevy may be out of the question...but maybe not if you took off the engine housing!!

I got to try out the ignition fix and upgrade with some wet heavy snow this weekend. It was a very noticeable improvement in power. While I didn't double my power or anything, it maintains rpm much better when you start pushing the heavy stuff.

You know, I have a neighbor who is an *******...this would be perfect to leave parked at 2500 rpm right near his deck while I'm weed wacking and trimming the bushes. ;)

OK, so road trip to MN?

That blower must have it's own engine. I get it throws some serious snow! I could do my driveway in one pass, it would almost be too easy!
