After a couple prods from Eric recently, I wanted to get this locked in early enough for interested parties to plan around it.

I'm reserving the weekend of October 9-11. Any and all who are interested in stopping out for the day, or the weekend, are welcome.
It'll probably be a low-key event, with food and drink at my home. I've got plenty of space for everyone.

Comments? Suggestions? Ideas? Please chime in below!

I'm making to summarize the ideas thus far into something that resembles a schedule of events, but will more likely be more like a "things to do if everyone gets bored at the same time."

Saturday has plenty of options. These are, of course, in addition to "sit around at Mike's place and drink." which has historically proven to be both a) fun, and b) easy.

Rock Falls Raceway (1/4 mile) - test and tune - $69/car (or 5 cars for $250) 8 am to 5 pm

Grove Creek Raceway (1/8 mile) - Test and Tune - $50/car 9 am to 4 pm Gates open at 8 am

Frankensteiners car show - $5/car 9 am to 5 pm

In addition to these events, we could work out some sort of a cruise, or hit up a few breweries (or both!) I'm also conveniently located near about a dozen good pizza places.

I threw this together just for fun. it's not by any means a "must do," but it does contain a few of my favorites..

I was thinking about a track day Saturday but will have to look into it more. I'm also just happy to drink and hold down a garage floor for a few days.

I was looking into Rock Falls Raceway and they have a test and tune that Saturday for $69/car (or 5 cars for $250) then we all can bracket race for only $30 that night.

You mean an excellent opportunity to have two nice & long Mark VIII cruises.

And 2 hours doesn't sound like LOD speeds.

Sounds like fun but I can't view the website. Let the Frankenstieners know that they have offended the Chineese government and their website has been sensored.

oops. Now you've done it!

On the bright side, at least the Chinese appreciate a fine automobile such as the Lincoln Mark VIII...

I was actually ashamed that we have not been offensive or controversial enough to have been censored. think about it. We could have " So bad we are banned in China" as our tag line.

Welcome back to the forum, Kirk! I hope life's been good. I look forward to seeing you at the party.

I'd been planning to bump this thread anyway.. :) Anyone else?

Wouldn't you making the event be CATASTROPHICALLY awesome?
He is full of awesomeness, he has the selfies to prove it. :)

I'm still planning on the car show Saturday but if there is something better, I'll listen. Maybe a track night on Friday?
