That's the only thing it doesn't do. Most detectors out on the market don't have direction of the radar. Only the Max 360 and Valentine one have direction of the radar. But there is a lot to consider in radar nowadays because of new cars that have Blind Spot monitoring (BSM). They use the same radar freq as the police do. Some of these radar detectors do a better job at filtering BSM from these newer cars than the other. Like V1 is much better than Max 360 but you don't get GPS lockouts on a V1. You can pair your phone to the V1 to get GPS lockouts though.
If you are in a place where there are lots hills, curves, and trees around, you should get the Uniden R3.
Then you got Laser Jammers. Mark VIII is a terrible car for Jammers though. Town car is good though, so I have it on that.
Yeah, the mounting location is what sucks with the Mark VIII. Now adding a Cobra bumper would make it much better though

Don't think you are downgrading from M360. V1 has better range and BSM filtering than M360. The only good thing about M360 is GPS lockouts which can be had on V1 by tethering your phone to V1.
There are options for you VA people. Police use radar detector detectors to find which cars have radar detectors. <---- I know, weird sentence. Some radar detectors are immune to being detected. Read up on rdforums.org or watch videos on youtube by "Vortex Radar"
Better to pay for having a RD than a speeding fine, at least no insurance hike for having a RD.
