I had one let go on my prototype Roush Stage III setup at like 6G. Not fun but the Manley rod as so manly that it took the hit and still pumping today and I have a nice CP piston ashtry with a Bolt mark to show for it. I sent Stage 8 a new set and they did their thing on those suckers so it will never happen again.Another fruitful evening ...
Intercooler and supercharger getting sealed and bolted together. 7mm non-reusable bolts that oh so like to break. Loctite for safety or piece of mind
Complete intake manifold assembly ready to go on the engine.
Thanks a lot. This evening I finally started working on the clutch pedal, and the rest of the trans swap while waiting for the rest of the engine components.
I will be using SC master cylinder with GT500 slave, connected with a 36" braided line.
Anyone who tries to install the clutch pedal without removing the dash is out of their mind IMO.
The install is a little more complicated on a 1st gen car due to harness placement,
but in either case, to properly mount the cage so that it doesn't flex with the firewall the dash needs to be removed.
It's probably the easiest part of this swap though
Surprisingly clean carpet in this light graphite gray interior
No plug on the Asham8 module install to facilitate easy console removal (thick gray wire - pass side). Gotta change that
It's definitely a knuckle buster ....... lets just say it was a pain
I'm happy with the way my install looks ....
Honestly I have no idea. This is one of those things that I'll have to figure out once the car runs and drives. Too many changes to just guess and pray it will work out. What flavor of rear end gets mated to this 5 speed?
Mileage, driveability and power. It just keeps getting sweeter.:thumbsup:It's definitely a knuckle buster ...
In the end if you're happy with it, that's all that matters

Nothing too extreme though, other than some type of limited slip differential, the gear set will either remain stock LSC 3.27, or mild step up to 3.55 or 3.73s (doubtful).
400+ RWTQ at 2500ish RPM will make up for it
Thanks but I'll do the engine a favor and not put one on . Regardless, I don't see how it's any more difficult. I've installed these engines without the lower blower drive pulley and added it later without any issues ?DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND PUT ON A LOWER PULLEY KIT BEFORE IT GOES IN THE CAR. I can't stress this enough. It's a serious PITA to change it once its in the car.
The lines remain stock which are metal. The PS feed line is rubber, but it's quite far from the alternator. Again, haven't had any issues in 6+ years of running the alt in that location on multiple cars ?Also I would put some heat shield tape on the rubber power steering hoses that are near the alternator as its get warm it can melt the lines.
I told you to do it back in 06 or was it 05 ... I don't rememberI used a IAC from a 2002 mustang GT and ran the hose over to the intake tube post MAF. I'd be interested in seeing how you do it.
