RIP Doug Fraleigh

With great sadness, I announce the death of my husband Doug Fraleigh. We assume a heart attack Wed night. Jenn and I started CPR but with 3 crews and efforts all the way to the hospital, they couldn't save him. He will be cremated and interred at Arlington National Cemetary the work he loved. Being the govt. could take months and I can post as soon as I know for anyone wanting to attend in the VA/DC area. Doug was relief Commander at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for many years. It was one of his proudest accomplishments. He is survived by myelf, 3 children, his Mom, a sister, and three grandchildren, nieces and nephews. And on the TMI of it all, he's going in a racing red urn....... no coke bottle.

Instead of flowers, either of these sites would be special to me and Doug

I'm speechless. Doug is one of very few forum members that I've actually met in person. I'll miss the Army vs. Navy jokes we threw back and forth. So sorry for your loss. You have my prayers.

I know distance limits me, but please let me know if there's ANY way I can be of assistance.

I am so sorry to hear this. I always enjoyed joking around with Doug about gen 1 vs gen 2.:) He was an excellent moderator here as well, we really appreciated his help.
It was great seeing him and you again this year at Carlisle.

My sincere condolences to you and your family.

:frown: Donna, my condolences to you, your family and friends. Doug's was very helpful to our community here and will be sorely missed. I did not know Doug relief Commander at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, that is a great service to our county. He will be able to get all the 7&7s he wants now

My condolences to you and your family Donna. The whole LOD family will miss Doug (and his short fuse). Loved the time I was able to spend with you both ( and light that fuse) at the NE Speedway events! RIP Doug.

I'm so sorry, I don't have the words. I learned so much from his threads on this public forum, I can only imagine how it was to know the man. If you need anything at all, just ask.

Steve - great idea. I found a pint in the cabinet. I'll try to sneak it in the niche/crypt.
Thanks everyone, this helps ease the pain
