Doug has helped me out so many different times and through our conversations I'd been looking forward to meet him at Carlisle next year. My thoughts and prayers go to the family. You will be missed friend!

Donna here, I am just starting to get to the other web sites. Thank you all so much for your wonderful stories and thoughts for Doug and our family. We are still in shock. It means so much to know how much you all cared.

Doug was a true Engineer. Always finding some new angle or approach to a problem, and he always had high quality, well documented photos of whatever odd and difficult-to-reach part someone had questions about.

I'd guess a large percentage of the cars on this forum have one or more of his parts on them. Whether his bushings, steering joints, headlight adapters, or anti-sway-bar mount kits, these parts all showed tremendous attention to detail, with fit, finish, and component quality that were unmatched. I know there are items I missed, but even of that list, my own car has two of the four. Doug's work is.. Prolific.

Doug is home now and I have the urn here by the computer in his office. Too hot to put him in the Lincoln. He can oversee the forum.... He has a case # with ANC now. so when his turn is up, I'll finally hear from them. Same process with my Father 2 years ago, start to heal, service two months later, oh lets open up the wound again. Whenever the gov't advises me the date I will post in case anyone in the DC/Metro/VA area wishes to attend. It will only be graveside. They are in/out in 30 minutes.

Makes me wish I still lived in VA. I'd definitely be there. That's good to hear that he's home for the time-being. It doesn't make it any less saddening, but I would guess that it's a comfort knowing he's not somewhere foreign in the mean time.

I'm very glad to see that he'll be resting in such a prestigious place as Arlington. Thank you for keeping us updated.

Wow. I'm not good at formalities so ill be going with Tixer's post. Doug will be missed by all. I also enjoyed all of his posts of the hard to find pain in the butt fixes he had for everything. Always read them and stashed them away on hard drive with copy and paste for later. I too have a lot of his parts on my car. I was just about to get a full conversion from him for the disc brake conversion. He knew the entire list of stuff needed to pull it off properly along with his specialty bushings ect.
Guys like him will always be missed and remembered. My condolences to the wife and family, and also hugs from all his buddies here on the site to you. Come and post whenever you need to talk. There's plenty of instant messaging services and email on here to accomplish that if you want to chat. Don't be a stranger, you're still part of the family here even though Doug beat us all at the big race of life. He'll be up there waiting at the finish line for the rest of us when we get there.

Can someone please post on the Super coupe and TB boards -- I can't seem to find his sign ons, etc. Please extend my thanks for all the wonderful thoughts and stories of Doug. Some of them I was a part of and some, just all the on line stuff he/ya'll did. Thank you so much for thinking of him and us, and I just wanted to let you know it's a great help-- Donna

You know how you can realize someone does a lot to help, but not quite how much until they aren't there to do it anymore? I knew Doug was doing a LOT of moderating work, but I'm starting to see just how much trouble he saved us all from regarding spammers and other things. Mods and users alike.

he said that to me at carlisle talking about moderating, i said i was a mod back in the day of the tuner wars and we would get bashed, threatened, etc. Doug said there are a lot of overseas spammers he was dealing with.
