Slow to start

After work today ill do a fuel pressure test. I changed the plugs when i put the MC coils in. The cam or crank sensor would probably prevent the car from starting period wouldnt it? Not this kinda of slow stumbling start, brother said that maybe a sticking injector. Would make a little sense since it seems like i use a quarter tank every time i start it

Could it be the starter and its solenoid? When i first got the crown vic it didnt start on the first try until i got a new solenoid

I'd lean towards fuel pressure as well. The octain raining won't cause this issue per say. The knock sensors will pick that up and retard the timing to compensate.

Starter only turns the engine over to build vacuum / compression, this still sounds like a fuel problem. Go rent an actual fuel pressure gauge and let us know what the numbers are when priming/starting and running.

Unless you're adding big power, I'd either go OEM, or that SVT Focus one everyone always talks about..

Great write up on that one, here.

Thank you. Hopefully this is the actual problem.

My brother told me about a sort of anti backflow valve on it which would be the reason it's not holding pressure, I'm not completely sure about how the whole pump system works so would that be within the pump itself or further up? Can't seem to find a motorcraft one for sale too :/

Weird how it always worked after i did the plugs too

Don't know for sure but probably not good, car was a rental and had some bad owners, never had this problem before though. Looks like I'm still lacking pressure at the rail at prime and when I turn off.

That still seems like twice as long as it should be.. Maybe follow that fuel line from front to back on the car. See if it's been crushed/damaged/etc?

Doesnt appear to hold pressure
Update: seafoam in the tank appears to have fixed it...

Overall ive just stopped a few problems ahead of me for a couple hundred dollars when the real fix was a 6$ can of addetive...
