The Deep Navy Blue

Congrats Jeremi! Can't wait to follow your progress on it.

Is this is the same blue as the NJ car I looked at for you? Pictures do that color no justice... looks really cool in person!

That it does, I was just up at Jeremi's since he was doing a couple things to my wife's 2005 Freestar Limited minivan. The car is really nice and the interior is IMMACULATE!! I don't think anyone has ever sat in the front passenger seat - there are absolutely no "creases" or stretch marks on that leather. The back seats are even cleaner.

Uh....sorry, but no! HA-HA!! That would be cool though! Just an oil change and a quick look at the right rear brake pads and rotor! There was some sort of grabbing sound coming from the back right that would go away when the brake pedal is applied but comes back intermittently. He swapped the inside pad for the outside and that seems to have done the trick.

But a turbo on the 2005 Freestar wouldn't be bad, maybe a supercharger, upgraded bigger Brembo brakes, Flowmaster exhaust system, there are always possibilities! There was an article on a Windstar that had a Kenny Brown supercharger: http://www.edmunds.com/ford/windstar/1999/road-test.html

It's about time to bring this back from the dead. This car has been sitting for all year, while other projects took precedence. Enough is enough :cool-blue:

I am still not sure what direction it will take, but for now few things have been done, which some of you had a chance to see at Carlisle.

First and foremost, it was time to get rid of those dated chrome 10 spokes and weak brakes :embarrassed: I dug thru thru the parts bin, and found some brakes, and hubs ;)

I can't believe how original this car is. Notice the spring clips on the studs installed on the assembly line.

Front wheel wells stripped of all suspension parts, and cleaned up a bit. No paint needed. :cool-blue:

I bought these calipers couple years back in UK. They're off a Euro Spec_ed Focus RS. They're exactly the same as 2000 Cobra R Brembos.

They needed some refinishing as the previous owner started working on them. Fresh coat of PC, cad plated hardware, and they're as good as new. The spindles received PC as well since the new wheels show thru a little more than the old 10 spokes. I also replaced all the control arms and bushings due to age regardless of the low 50k mileage.

19x8.5 AMR wheels with 245/40/19 Michelin Pilot Sport tires fit like a glove, with plenty of clearance around the calipers. Moving onto the rear ...

all stock components removed, and the car pushed outside to wheel well clean up. AWD would come in handy :mad-tilt:

Wheel wells undercoated, rear suspension reassembled with new 5x4.50 hubs, OEM rotors, repainted calipers, bushings, new Bilstein shocks (with black dust boots swapped over from ugly cobra baby blue ;))

19x10 AMR wheels with 285/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sports installed. No clearance issues whatsoever, even with stock quarter lips.

Hub swap check. Big brakes check. Now it's very apparent why the tan interior has to GO. :embarrassed:

I would love to see the parts bin! I can see it would most likely be a state secret and most likely a remote warehouse from the garage location!

What are you planning to do with the tan interior? I'd certainly be inerested in a few pieces...

By the way, car looks awesome.

Nice Jeremi. I was thinking of the Pilots for my new rims too. I've always thought they rode really nice. With that setup, how close are you to the stock diameter?

Well, it looks like most of the stuff I've been saving for last few years will end up in this car. So the "bin" is getting smaller each day ;)

I actually snapped a photo when J wasn't looking..
shhh .....

The tan interior is up for grabs. All of it.

Pilots are awesome. Even the RFTs rode very nice on the vette. PS3s on this car are very smooth. They match the stock 26.6" dia dead on in the front, and .5" larger in the rear.
