Those rims looks super nice on your mark viii. I need to do my blend door as well smh.
Here's a shot from Carlisle weekend showing the true wheel color against the car.

And the dash, well, I didn't really need to do it, as this car isn't seeing many cold days out, but the dash was out anyway for the color change. :wink2-green

Since the 98 donor dash harness and frame had some issues, I had to strip the skin and swap it over onto the original guts, Too much fun.

Before putting the dash back in, I modified the firewall, relocated the main harness, and added the third pedal. Why not :roll_over:

Dang, I could have gotten you an NOS dash in midnight black for only $2800. Oh well... :D

But seriously, it looks great!

Here's the finished interior. I have to give the driver's seat a little more attention, but overall I am happy with the outcome. The blue against midnight black works for me ;) Finally.

Time to concentrate on the drivetrain :cool-blue:

The CE touches look great in the car. I have to agree the Blue with black interior looks great. Did you do a color change on the steering wheel or is it one that was made by Alexander?

Awesome. Putting in these manual Trans's must be boring at this point.
You got that right. I wish there was a DCT option that we could use instead. I am in love with my wife's new car. DCT >>> any manual.

It's a CE wheel dyed to match the Midnight Black. Too bad the shifter has to go ;)

That looks so nice, it should have been offered factory.
100% improvement!
I agree. The color combos have changed over the years, and so have people's tastes.

Nice! Hoping to see that turbo project finally make it into a car
It very well might, but for now looking for a 300rwhp summer cruiser. Wait, it is summer. Better hurry up then ;)

The drivetrain left the car last week, here's few pictures of the process. The trans is already living in another car, and the engine will follow soon.

Almost hurts to take this apart. :roll_over:

That whole unit looks amazingly clean and rust free.
Which is why it's been around for over a year already

That is super clean.
Did your hands get dirty? :p
No, but I'll make sure to throw some grease and dirt on the engine before I ship it to you. :fart

How many miles were on the engine?
52k or so. 2k of that were mine. Most mark viii miles for me in a while :embarrassed:

Hmmm... this should prove interesting.
It isn't all that. I've had this brand new engine for couple years now, no one wanted it, so I HAVE to use it.

That's a clean ride J!
Thanks bud, hoping to clean it up some more by this month's end.

Slowly I've been getting the new engine ready to be installed. Many parts have to be swapped over like the harness, PS pump, A/C compressor, manifolds, oil pan etc.
I also decided to use the Mark VIII valve covers with PCV located at the far back. This way I can use the stock mark viii intake tube and its vac lines. Coat of charcoal powder was applied as well.

Couple shots of the inside of the engine. Hopefully with proper maintenance it will stay looking this clean for a while. Forged 8 bolt crank specific to manual version of the Mach1.
