Original auto shifter plate modified, and sealed around the shifter rod. Trans tunnel sealed. Midnight black boot with red stitching installed.

I wonder if somebody makes a wooden GT500 6 speed shifter knob or just the insert to replace the silver trim ?

Jeremi, maybe Alexander can make you a wooden shift knob for you since he does all the other custom wood stuff.

I thought more about this, and all I would want is just the silver insert to be replaced with wood. The problem is the 6 speed diagram on top of it. I can live without it, but others probably shouldn't ;)

So do you think you will like the 6SP better than a 5SP?
It's definitely a more refined transmission, no doubt. The 6th .50 final drive will definitely help the economy, but still not sure what gear to go with for the rear end.

The driveshaft has been installed, and again, it's a very tight fit with the 4" shaft. I also re-filled the transmission with Syncromesh instead of Mercon V as suggested by Tremec guys.

I also finished all the fuel line plumbing with teflon braided lines. Vac lines were very simplified. Throttle and cruise cable took some modifying but nothing better than stock cables ;)

To an untrained eye, the engine bay looks almost original. I expect an modest 60-70rwhp gain over stock 220-225rwhp out of this combo.

The car runs and drives well, although I might have bought too much clutch. :eek-large: It's begging for twice the torque for sure.

I have to finish some wiring for the trans, and hopefully the car will see dyno sometime this month.

More pictures and videos soon.

Spectacular work, Jeremi. I cannot wait to see this car in person. (again)

Something about those super-tight clearances on the driveshaft really impresses me. :)

I completed most of the wiring. The clutch pedal switch is wired in to avoid crank while in gear scenario. Unfortunately, I will have to remove the dash again. It's impossible to get to the wire that runs to the brake pressure switch before it goes thru the firewall, and that's where I need to tap in the other side of the clutch switch. I want the CC to disengage not only when brake pedal is pressed, but also when the clutch is pressed in. Tbird SC is done this way from the factory. Oh the OCD joy. :roll_over: The trans harness is done as well, just the reverse switch and the VSS sensor wires. I like simple. :wink2-green

Looking good, don't forget to make that brake reservoir blend in... :tongue-pink:
I am getting an aluminum cover made for the reservoir so that it can be powdercoated or polished, and still removable when adding the brake fluid.

what intake manifold is that, cobra? too lazy to search back to see if it was mentioned.

It's a complete new car take out 03 Mach 1 engine. The intake manifold is similar to that of 01 Cobra. The lower intake is the same with 03 Marauder, which gives me the option of flipping the throttle body to driver's side if need be in the future :err-what?:

Since apparently I can't leave nothing alone, I modified the exhaust setup on the car while keeping its dead silent sleeper effect. I had a bunch of parts laying around, just needed some cut and weld time ;)

The passenger's side cat outlet was enlarged to 2.5" by removing the inner 2" pipe Lincoln graced us with. The driver's side got a socket adapter also to 2.5"

Next, a 2.5" SS x-pipe was modified to fit within Mark VIII tunnel. The stock rear section piping was expanded to match the x-pipe, and down tubes were fitted to make a bolt in mid-pipe. All from some SS scrap ;)

Here it is complete, ready to be welded up. No TIG for this puppy, as it's more of temp "summer" solution. Wideband bung added as well. Few shots of the final fit as well. Ground clearance not affected. :roll_over:
