The Ivory KB car

I also spent few hours fabricating the K-member braces. I don't like how most prefabbed pieces fit very low, and with the lowered k-member it made even more sense to make them from scratch.

...and both braces are done. The ground clearance is not affected at all. Ok, the bolt heads are lower :tongue-pink:

Those k-member braces look sweet, I hate having to avoid certain areas and cringe every time mine actually do scrape :eek-large:. Are you planning on making/installing full subframe connectors?

By the way, I have this Friday off and will be 1/2 way to your place for a doc appointment. If you're gonna be home say around 1:30ish I can swing that tool by for you to try out .

Wrapping up few items this week before the car goes on the rollers.

First up, the intake tube came back from MFP. It fits with the engine bay scheme a lot better now.

The spring lock fittings and 5/8 Parker hose showed up as well. I cut the hose to desired length, and had the ends crimped on at the local hydraulic shop. $$ saved ;)

IMG_00001875.jpg IMG_00001876.jpg

I also added some hose covering to prevent any possible rubbing issues by the shock tower.

Finally, using Ford UA base, and 2K Clear I blacked out the horizontal bar in the grille, and the bumper cover fog light openings.

I love this 2K clear. I wish the fog light bezels were removable like on the actual Cobra bumper. It would've been a lot easier :embarrassed:

The grille should look awesome with a black background. Great idea Bill !

I needed to work on the air ride relay plug some more, and after replacing one of the damaged pins, I still get intermittent connection, so I ordered new relay and replacement pigtail from Ford.
For now it's good, but before the car goes away, I want this to be 100%. I also had to extend the relocated harness as it wasn't fitting with the liner in place as well as I'd have liked. 43 wires, add 16" to each ;)

Finally, the cover can be installed. Some cutting, and drilling was involved.

John, your mold , as well as prep work prior to shipment needs work big time IMO. If you want details, I have all the issues pictured. I am not going to clutter up this thread though.

So since the weather let up a little in MI, it was time for the maiden voyage to the now famous Shell gas station.
I've logged about 25 miles on the car today with no technical issues to report, other than a big azz grin on my face :roll_over:

Couple night shots as well. MadMark for sure. :eek-large:

Sure strikes a sinister pose! Nice work. Is the IC just reflecting light or do you have some lights in there?

Did I read somewhere in the thread that it's getting new shoes or was that one of your past masterpieces? Cause man, some chrome wheels would really set it off. Regardless, it looks fantastic!

The intercooler is lit by a strip of Superbrite LEDs across the bottom.
A new color, Ultra Warm White.
J said the camera makes the light seem brighter than it is, actually more of a soft glow.

Why light up the intercooler? Is this kind of like under body neon kits of the 90's? I never understood those...
