Hey guys, i just purchased the Lincoln LS.... what a fine piece of machinery. That car handles like a sports car and feels like a lincoln.... It currently has 60k miles on it and when its not warmed up the tranny doesn't seem to grab... i have to give it alot of RPM's just to move the car. Could this be a fluid issue or just a tranny issue all together... Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks Whiplash... i am going to get that car to the shop to do the transmission. Hopefully that should help out. I refuse to take the LS to the dealership so hopefully my friends shop will be able to flush the transmission in this car. Is there any issues with changing fluid on this car? I want to make sure that it gets done right.. Thanks guys

I would personally never flush the tranny on any car, drop the pan or manually drain the fluid and change the filter. Any tranny shop should do that for about the same price as a flush.

Only downside is that you don't usually get all the fluid out during a drain and refill, so you either have to also drain the torque converter too or change the fluid 3 times or so over a few thousand miles.

Either way it is easier on your tranny.

same problem

same problem

same problem with a 2000 ls, the tranny has a seal that leaks very slowly and in my opinion they dont make it easy to do any work on the tranny in these cars, was taken to the dealership and charged a lot and i think all they did was put more fluid, started around 64k and now is very bad (needs new tranny)

how many miles are on your LS now. I'm at 59 thousand. I treat it nice on the road but i can't help but feel that power when the road gives me the chance
