Well we knocked off work early today Gainesville has just reopened up so we thought we would try and get the Mark 8 Dialed in I ran last month at 11.78 at 128 MPH, the car then had the stock front Subframe I did install Daniel Rollante new tubular assembly and I was apprehensive of how the car will act at the strip, but it did fine, Daniel is sending me some corrected control arms that allow for caster adjustment, well I got the car up to the waiting line strapped my self in with the new harness had a fire Jacket on, and was beside a blown Mustang, I heard one guy bet 25 he would was my A###@@@%%$$ I smiled eased on up I had the MT at 22 PSI did an awesome burn out got the car staged and the tree started down he got me off the line I will let the time slip tell the rest of the story.

Oh is that cool! Congrats!

But since when is she a trailer queen?

RE: 11.3 Seconds at 126MPH

This is one of the reasons I love these cars.

Dennis, you keep our dreams alive ...

Now Trixie how about you come down here and drive it back from Gainesvill on full blown MT and its full of race gas, and you might have a queen Mark 8. So the VorMark aint no Queen either on or off the trailer, I drive this car to and from work most days except when it rains then its plum scarry on those tires.

Excellant times Dennis!! I look forward to trying to beat them.

You have the mph, just gotta get that ET down. Sounds like you are thinking along the same lines as me. There is a tripple disk PI 4000stall sitting in my garage right now.

RE: 11.3 Seconds at 126MPH

Ah, you wacky race guys!

11 second Mark VIII. I wonder how many Moosetangs can go that fast?

RE: 11.3 Seconds at 126MPH

Thanks Kale I remember the day I bought my Mark 8, I had an immaculate 1996 T Bird that got totaled when some one turned right in front of me. I hit them broad side I broke my thumb and ankle, I had a dream before that of putting a four valve motor in the Bird, but fate had other plans, so I bought the Mark 8 and I got to looking why not just use the Cobra intake on there, I called around looked on the net every one told me it would never work some said the transmission would not work others said it wont clear the hood, well the rest is history, I was the first person to do this, and I must say I love this car as well as my Marauder, our Mark 8's don't get older they get better.

RE: 11.3 Seconds at 126MPH

Nice going Dennis. Great looking car as well. Youve done a tasteful job incomplying with the safety specs also. I am looking forward to getting Silver Streak down to you for some massaging just as soon as I can get some financials in order. I have friends at Cocoa Beach, and the weather is not great up here at the moment.

RE: 11.3 Seconds at 126MPH

Dennis, Your Mark, by far, is my all time favorite gen1. It is just badass. I wish you brought it here to ATL with the new Marauder for the last tuning session at Team Ford. Hope you were able to get the surge out of your Mustang.

See you at the Cracker Barrel for breakfast when you come back for another tuning session. I was the only Mark there at the last one. I was surrounded by a sea of Marauders... What a fantastic group of people. They treated me like I was one of their own.

RE: 11.3 Seconds at 126MPH

Great post and great times Dennis!! I was around when you were first getting that car together (years ago now). All the trouble you were having with it, going through motors, it is great to see you never gave up on it. It is awesome to see the thing running like it is!! Can't wait to see the post about your 10-second Mark VIII.

Joe (ponyfreak) - it would be nice to see the ivory car run or even start, no less pull off 11-second quarters?! ;-) {again, I can't help it}

RE: 11.3 Seconds at 126MPH

Dennis, when I bought my chip from you, you didn't tell me you were selling a chip that could make my car run in the 11's! ;-) Are you holding out on me? I know it's all about the spool hidden real well in the front. I would have backed off the line if I saw you roll up with a cage and a 5 point harness. I woulda known my game was up. Do you sell a S/C kit that drops in or is it a bit of surgery? How do you like the tubular K member?

RE: 11.3 Seconds at 126MPH

On Dennis's car, the fronts are stock. He then took the rears, split them in half and added (I believe) an inch and some street slicks. Anybody can correct me if I am wrong.

I thought it was a great idea and I am playing with the same idea for my Octastars. Dang I love these rims, so easy to keep clean, and they shine like the moon...
