90mm maf

There's a vast difference between a Big Air (SCT) MAF and a Lightning MAF (LMAF). The early Lightning MAFs were 80mm, but your talking about the later 90mm units. The housings are 90mm for all the BAs and late Lightnings. The electronics are calibrated totally different though. The 90mm LMAF will suppot mild forced induction setups to wild NA while the BA units are for those pushing 700 plus rwhp. A stock to mild modified Mark really can't use any of these, the flow range isn't there for these vehicles. There are a lot of people running with the LMAF but I don't recommend it for mild applications. The stock 80mm flows pleanty for these vehicles.

Great Words of WISDOM Lonnie... bigger isn't always better!

Lots of People/tuners/dealers will "SELL" you these things whether you need them or can use them or not...then there's "Lonnie at BOC"

It dont matter how much money you have, if you "dont need it" Lonnie probably wont sell it to you..(grins)
+1 for Lonnie!

I've heard a few times that the stock Mark breathes fine (well, remove intake snorkel) but its the exhaust end where things get restricted. So if one has stock exhaust, intake mods don't benefit much. True?

from what I understand the exhaust manifolds are the restriction, so just replacing the stock exhaust pipes wont eliminate the restriction.

Before I went forced induction, I put a C&L 90mm MAF on the Mark a few years ago, and had a dyno tune done by Aric to dial it in. I gained 3rwhp. FWIW, not worth the money involved as a stand alone mod. The Mark was running lean with the 90mm MAF on there before Aric tuned it, so I would strongly suggest a dyno tune after this mod.
