Today while on the interstate driving to work, the engine started revving so I backed off the throttle and then realized the car was "out of gear" as it re-engaged after I backed off the throttle. This behavior occurred one more time during my 15 mile trip. The overdrive button on the shifter is in the default position so I am wondering if this is a mechanical problem (transmission slipping) or if it is an electrical problem having to do with the overdrive. Any helpful comments are appreciated.
