i am wondering what is involved in putting a 97 engine into a 95 can you do it i have a shell that needs a motor and i have a friend with a 97 motor so i am trying to figure out if it simple enough to do the swap thanks

Did it in mine....twice. :(

You'll just use the 95 intake/sensors/coils/wires etc. You're basically swapping the "Long Block" as they call it in the business. Its a simple swap...I suggest dropping the K member, after pulling the transmission.

So I want to change the intake the imrcs and all the sensors what about the coils keep it cop or pot the packs on it so the long block engine heads and pulleys are the same as a 95

Why drop the k member ? To pull the engine I have pulled two out through the top with no issues.

You can pull through the top too, whatever floats.

Yes, long block. Block/Heads/exhaust manifolds/coil PACKs (not COP unless you want to rewire for it)/pulleys are all the same. The crank/cam sensors are the same, alternator, power steering pump, a/c compressor will be left on to keep the system closed.

You'll need to reuse your 95 intake manifold (IMRC's don't get unbolted, therefor stay on bottom of intake), COOLANT bypass pipe (97/98 different), alternator (different bracket), and I used my 95 sensors because I KNEW they were working so I wouldn't have a "No Start" issue and have it be something stupid.
