Luke brought my attention to a Lincoln show at a dealer near the Mall of America this past weekend, and we both made a point to attend.

It turned out to be hosted by our friends at the LCOC, and was a nice event. Kirk even made a surprise guest appearance.

Luke, I somehow don't have a photo of your car, and I'm sorry.

Nice! That looks like Bob Johnson's convertible Mark VIII. Do you know him? He was at the Lincoln Homecoming in 2019. My dad had a 59 Imperial like that 58? Do you have a photo of the engine? 58 had the Hemi, 59 had the 413.

That was definitely Bob, He lives just north of me, and talked me into signing up for the local chapter of LCOC. It seemed the appropriate thing to do because we keep bumping into each other in this oh-so-small Lincoln world..

That Imperial was fantastic, but they never popped the hood. You just don't see too many of those around here. I was telling Luke a story from a buddy of mine who owned one from that era. He claimed to have put a Penny-Farthing style bicycle in the trunk of it once.

I guess that officially makes you our club ambassador. :giggle:

Was there any talk of the upcoming Lincoln Homecoming event?

There was! the event is definitely "on," although there is no track day. He said he tried, but they couldn't agree on pricing, so it's not happening. Bob still considered that a worthwhile addition to the weekend, and intends to keep trying.

I should probably check my calendar and set up a reservation. That was a good time. It's worth it for a walk through the various museum buildings alone.

When is that show?

I'm pretty sure we have a thread for it elsewhere, but here's the link. Mark your calendars.

August 12 - 15, Hickory Corners, MI

The tough thing is, it's always the weekend before the Dream Cruise, which I really wanted to see this year.

Well I have a work commitment that weekend but if it's the same weekend every year I will block it out for next year.

August is such a full calendar.
