So I had the Lincoln Motor Sport big MAF kit laying around (minus the air filter). I had switched back to the stock MAF housing after a couple failed attempts to make a shield around the cone filter. So this past Saturday I got board and decided to try and fit it in the stock air box. It was a tight fit but it fits.
The first thing (pic 1) I did was to trim the lip around rubber adapter ring supplied with the kit. The rubber ring goes into the back of the air box. It's a snug fit.
Next (pic 2), and this was the hardest part seeing how I only had a hack saw and a dremel, you need to cut down the piece of metal with the three mounting holes. I put a radius on the side with the rubber ring to get a better fit.
Next (pic 3) I got the Dremel and ground down some of the ribs in the air box where the MAF sensor is going to rest.
Last (pic 4) I put the rubber ring that came on the factory MAF housing and lined it all up with the inlet piece.
Hopefully at the end of the summer I can get it dynoed and see if there has been any improvements.
