Blend door in conti like Mark 8??

I just fixed the blend door in my 97 Mark 8. My wife's 02 Conti is stuck in heat mode and I'm fearing it's the same blend door problem. Anyone have any info about this?

Looks like it has one......

"The A/C electronic blend door actuator is located on the rear of the A/C evaporator housing."

The book calls for 3.4 hours, I can put up some pics and a walk through if you'd like. Let me know! :D

Thanks a lot for your offer to post more info on the 02 Conti blend door replacement. I'd very much like to see a picture and/or some procedure to replace it. There is a quite thorough one for the Mark 8 that I followed (about 50 steps to get to it!), without which I would have been lost. Do you go at the Conti one from under the hood? I think that the quoted labor for the Mark 8 version is more on the order of 6-7 hours, so maybe the Conti one isn't quite as much of a bear.
Anyway, I look forward to you posting some details!
Thanks!

Ok, looking over the removal, it sounds SUPER easy. I think its under the dash on the passenger side. Look.........

INSTALLATION

To install, reverse the removal procedure. (LOL!)

Don't know why it would take someone 3.4 hours to do it, but hey, you never know. :D

J,
Thanks a lot for posting the pics and instructions It looks deceptively simple, after the PITA of the Mark 8. Almost sounds like I can even figure out if it's broken before I replace it! The Mark is undrivable once you get into the repair.
Will look into this as soon as I can pry the car away from my wife for a few hours.
thanks again!
