Boyd Cottington Mark VII

I apologize for the spelling but you know who I'm talking about, the guy with the "Hot Rod" show on the Discovery Channel. Well, He has a shop about half a mile from my house and I decided to check it out. He had all kinds of awsome classics and what not. I start lookig at the pictures on the wall, I asume they're all cars they have worked on. Right when I start heading out I see a MARK VII. It was all blacked out, looked cool. Any info on this car???

I thought I would share that.

RE: Boyd Cottington Mark VII

So, are you saying Boyd made a custom Mark VII for somebody? Or could it have been any Mark VII? I have never heard of that car before, is there someone at the shop that you could ask? Bring a digicam with you the next time you go please! I want to see what it looks like.

The only 2 "Blacked out" Mark VII models is the factory Lincoln "LSC Special Edition" and the "GTC" Jack Roush model. You could tell the GTC by the ground effects, but it is very rare.

I doubt it was just any VII, I REALLY think they worked on it.

It was ALL black, but I didn't know what to look for, they only had one pic of it(i.e. VIII LSC= HIDS, no chrome strips...).

next time I'll ask somebody

You are confusing me. Are you talking about a Mark 7 or a Mark 8? VII or VIII?

RE: Boyd Cottington Mark VII

I'm talking about a Mark VII(7), I cannot distinguish one year from another or one model from the next, they all look the same to me.
I don't know what to look for because I don't own one.

Unlike the VIII where I can narrow it down to within a year of the model. That's what I wanted to get cross.

For example, the black Mark VIII that I use for a sig pic:

It is likely a 96 LSC, or a rare 95 LSC.
I can't guess the year/model/Special Ed with the Mark VII's

OK. The only obvious way to tell is the wheels, but Boyd likely swapped them for another set anyway. There is also the first gen (84-89) and second gen (90-92) dashboards. The Special Editions (no chrome) were available in 90-92.

What difference does the model year make anyway?? Go get more info !!!!
