If that's not correct, I'll edit it if needed.
I sincerely thank all of you who participated for bestowing the "Member of the Year" award upon me. I am truly humbled, but I must say I think next year the rule should be the previous year's 'member of the year' not be eligible?
As far as the trophies for next year, I am certainly open to suggestions. The intent was to be equitable to all Lincolns and encourage diversity. As such we had the best of Gen1, Gen2, Stock, Modified and Other as well as the Member of the Year award. Perhaps we are once again getting enough participation that we could also add to the number of trophies.
That's one of the reasons why Carlisle is looking to eliminate the "WOW" effect from the voting. This year, for GM Carlisle there is no peer judging, all vehicles will be judged by teams of judges that will visit every car. Truck Carlisle is similar except you drive to a judging tent.
By having judges this puts modified and stock on even footing if they aren't separated in their classes. It eliminates the "oh look honey, isn't the red one cute?" factor and really judges everyone equally.
For an idea of what they're doing, read this:

Hopefully, if the GM experiment works they will expand the program to Ford.
I have mixed feeling on this. I think perhaps there should be peer judging but I can see where others would think teams of judges would be better. Maybe they could have the first place judged by official judges and the runner ups peer judged? I think there is a lot of merit to peer judging when the classes are properly setup.
Nice...that will also thwart the 'popularity contest',
Hey! I like popularity contests!
In all seriousness, having a car show professionally judged is no easy task. The judges have to be uncommonly unbiased and very knowledgeable of each model and modifications. Oftentimes that is not the case. I'm sure Leo could attest to that as well.
