checking for codes

For those who check their cars' error codes, what do you use? I have a 95 Mark and was told at AZ they could only check 96 and up. Seemed a little strange to me I just haven't checked the other local AZ yet. The "gentleman" I spoke with at Autozone was not the friendliest(sp) nor the most helpful.

You can buy a scanner for under $30. It is a good investment.

They have scanners listed on ebay for both 96 (OBD II) and up and Ford scanners for OBD I cars before 1996. I bought one for my 92 Ford 250 for about $20.00

If you have a test light, or a volt meter, you can do it yourself. No need to spend any money.

I use a Sunpro Code Scanner, CP915 - Ford, Lincoln & Mercury Domestic 1981 & Newer. Don't know how much it is now, but I remember it being farily inexpensive when I picked it up a few years ago.
