Boss 429's were the hot deal back in the day if you could afford one. Tunnel port 427's were next then the 428 SCJ's. I was only able to afford a 428 SCJ that I put together and ran in my 68 Fast back. For scaring all the women and children off the street there is nothing like a cammed up big block with headers. Actually my wise crack was intended to draw attention to the size of the picture that was posted.

My boat has a 502 in it. CI wise I got ya' beat, but it's still only about 400 hp. If I had the cash I'd love to adapt an LS2 hopped up to about 500 hp.

Coyote - is that the new 6.2L or the 5.0L? I think they're both related either way, also to the new 3.7L perhaps. I saw cutaways of the 3.7 and 5.0 for the Mustang at the auto show. They're still using funky spark plugs with a whole bunch of threads! Hopefully they learned from the problems with the 2v and 3v heads though.

I wondered the same thing since my 5.0 push-rod finally died in the Tbird Sport. I've been doing some tuning for Kenny Brown and he's already been checking in on this engine since they are currently only available for the FR500 this year and then there were only 6 built with 12 spare engines between them. I've also been in contact with a FR500 race team for some tuning. Kenny Brown was wanting a whole car to build for SEMA to get a head start on everyone else. Ford isn't saying anything on if they will even build any for companies like his so it's anyone's guess at who if anyone will get a pre-production vehicle. Both are telling me Ford isn't releasing any of them as a create engine except to the race teams. There are going to be some strict requirements to get a replacement for your 2011 GT if you happen to blow one up. Kind of like when the 96 Cobra first came out and the Mystic paint thing.

Ahhh...wait until people start crashing them (shouldn't take long) and salvage them kind of thing...

WE WILL HAVE OUR COYOTE ENGINES!!!

I imagine the folks that have enough money will just buy a new Mustang, pull the Coyote out, and put it in whatever they want.

I am actually weighing the pros and cons of getting a 2011 GT. I will have the family van paid off this year... I just don't know if I want the responsibility of a NEW new vehicle...scary insurance rates, service fees, parking at ridiculas distances from stores, but most of all not having to fix something every weekend.
