RE: DVC Subs
Awww c'mon guys, gotta' be bashin' Rockford, huh?? It's cool, I know Rockford has their "introductory" line, which actually hasn't been that bad in my experience but their top end product is pretty good. I am using three 12" Rockford HE-2 subs (Rockford's mid-grade product) in a sealed enclosure in my car, and they perform great. I only have a Kicker ZR600 2ch (running at an average 1.34 ohms) amp pushing all three. The ZR600 is a good, powerful amp but those subs could take quite a bit more. I also use Rockford Fosgate Fanatic Q 6.75" component speakers (Rockford's high-end) front and rear, and I think they sound awesome. Those are powered by a Kicker XR460 4ch. As far as durability, I've only replaced two subs in the past year (one being a factory defect) and I push these subs pretty hard, for example: continued peak volume for hours on end during car shows. Also, they are exposed to direct sunlight whenever it is out, and they have shown NO signs of SQ/SPL or physical deterioration, although most new car speakers hold up well to UV rays anyway. ...Just my $.02. Have fun!!!
