Ok, I'll start this part of the discussion board off with some problems and fixes that I have had personal experience with my 99 Navigator.
1)If your climate control flickers off and the fan motor quits during acceleration, check your serpentine belt. It my need changing. If you tow, I would suggest you go with a Goodyear Gatorback belt. More grip.
2)I recently got an insufficient EGR flow code and thought maybe it was the egr passenges clogged with carbon. Several people had advised me to this problem. (car has about 73,000 miles) Well it turns out all I needed to replace was the PFE sensor ($40+). Which is good, the labor to take off the manifold and unclog the passenges would be brutal. Apparently, 70,000 miles is low for clogged passenges. Oh, and if you want to get to the EGR valve, good luck! It's really barried against the firewall.
