Gen 2 - March UD Pulley Installation

Here's something that I did a few days ago. I used a March 1175 SFI Pulley Kit.

During the installation I made a Delrin spacer to use between the thrust bearing of the balancer installer and the face of the balancer to give the thrust bearing something to push against (as the diameter of the thrust bearing is very close to that of the recess in the front of the balancer), and to prevent scratches to the balancer.

I used an ARP 156-2501 balancer bolt torqued to 100 Lb-Ft. I made a 36" flat bar with two 8mm holes drilled in it, bolted to two of the three 8mm holes in the face of the balancer to hold the balancer while I tightened the bolt.

I know that most people just remove the AIR pump and the diverter valve that mounts in front of the balancer, but I take it as a point of pride that everything I've done to my car has retained all of the factory emissions equipment.

I cut the 6mm portion of the 3 studs that retain the diverter valve bracket to 10mm, and then used 15mm stainless coupling nuts and 6mm x 20mm stainless set screws to move the bracket out a bit for clearance. You can see the couplers behind the bracket in the last pic.
