HELP !! Crazy problems here

Last night my LSC started idleing at 3000 rpm's.
I checked for vacume leaks, diconnected the battery and even cleaned the MAF.
Nothing solved.
On my test drive after doing all that it wouldn't shift into 3 rd gear and the CE light came on.
Any suggestions ?

RE: HELP !! Crazy problems here

the usual, pull the codes. Sounds like IAC to me. Maybe the TPS ? Are the throttle body plates fully closed ?

RE: HELP !! Crazy problems here

Like Jeremi said, first check the obvious, esp. the throttle body. Check the plates close in the TB and check the intake tube gasket at the TB. Check your major wire harness connections and ground points. Next pull the codes.

Did it high idle while you were driving or when you started it up after setting?

RE: HELP !! Crazy problems here

Sounds like an electrical short. Did you get water in the engine compartment? Anything else funky happen lately?

Sorry guys I didn't respond sooner.
Something came up at work an I havn't been able to look at
anything yet.
My friend is coming next Sat after work with a cpu to pull the codes.

The intake tube is good (brand new) and sits right.
It started idleing high at startup, but the would go down
and then when I was driving it,
it went higher and stopped shifting.

I'll keep you posted as soon as it get scanned.

Thanx,
Matt

Well that's unusual! Ebay? Try Dennis Reinhart maybe. Or call lots of junkyards. Do you need the same code or will any do I wonder.

RE: HELP !! Crazy problems here

I have no idea how it happened, but that what the scanner said.

It has to be same "code" as the one I have in there now.
I have an extra coputer with a different code.
:(

Was your chip out when you read for codes?

It is not unusual for the following code to come up when you check for codes with the chip installed. It happens in my cars and it's in other posts in archives.

511 (O) No power to PCM pin 1 or bad PCM (processor)

Also...according to JW, any PCM from any ’93 to ’95 car will work fine in your ’95 car as long as it is not one of the early ’93 PCMs that have a code that ends with the number 2

RE: HELP !! Crazy problems here

Seems you guys were right. :)
I put in a computer I borrowed from another Mark
and still have the same problems.
Now I have to get my buddy to scan it again without the chip.

RE: HELP !! Crazy problems here

Well i doubt this is your problem, but did u check if the throttle cable is stuck?

about a month ago i started getting a high idle, above 1k, after driving on a very hot day. Took some WD40 and sprayed the heck out of the throttle cable. problem solved.

RE: HELP !! Crazy problems here

Yep,
Checked and lubed the cable already.
I am having scaned without the chip tommorow.
Thanx,
Matt
