Help the new mark8 idiot out

I did the jmod along with 1-2 springs and pistons. I also did the 2-3 piston while I was there. Once everything was put back together and filled up, I gave it a start to test it out. Everything below Park was a forward drive gear even reverse and neutral.

What and or where did I screw up, and please don't say by doing it myself? Anything to look for in particular?

You didn't by chance move the manual shift leaver sensor did you? I'm not sure about the jmods, but the 1-2, 3-4 upgrades can't do that.

Probably did not engage the manual shift solenoid correctly when installing the valve body.

Bad as it sounds, pull the pan back off and check the engagement.

As soon as I get a chance I will do that. I found out this morning of a friend/coworker's passing. So between funeral and work I might not get to it till Thursday or later. Looks like I am covering for some of his shifts till they find a replacement.

TO bad I don't have the cash to buy that tranny from you Joe. I wouldn't mind getting one of those. Oh well! With all the hours I'm working maybe I can afford a new one as a christmas present for myself.

Christmas is right around the corner. Do like I do(you have been) work like a robot for a couple weeks to afford what you want.

Third time was the charm. We went back in and engaged the shift rod thing you mentioned; but engaged it one notch to far. Everything was then neutral. Went back in and moved it over one notch. Works like a charm. I think it might take a little to get used too.

I also replaced the lower control arms.No more loud clunking noise when I hit a pebble or bump. With a friend or two these really arn't that bad to do yourself.

Glad to hear you got it worked ou. Make sure to get an aligment after changing the lower control arms.
