How to replace front hubs

So I've replaced front hubs on a 2002 Mitsui diamante, 2000 Pontiac Bonneville, now I need to replace the hubs oon my 2001 Continental. Question is- do I have to remove the lower bal;l joint and take out the CV shaft? or is there an "easy" way to get to the third bolt at the top? Or has this already been discussed and can you point me to the thread.

You can not remove the top bolt without remove the axle.

Just pop the lower ball joint loose and use a plastic mallet and hammer the axle out of the hub. Take out the three bolts and its off.
