How to you tighten the rack and pinion

Anyone have any instructions on how to tigthten the rack and pinion on the mark. I had the lower control arms tightened and since then I've heard more popping sounds coming from the front end and want to tighten the rack and pinion before I take it into the shop.

If the rack and pinion is bad will the popping sound happen when the car is stopped and the wheel is turned?

RE: How to you tighten the rack and pinion

Is there a reason you suspect the rack is loose? I believe the popping sound is more likely the upper control arm or the strut arm bushing. It is easy enough to get under the car with a large box end or socket, I forget what size and tighten the rack bolts, there are two of them, one on each side.

On my last Mark, it made clunking noises even after a complete front end rebuild.

Found out the rack was loose. Midas tightened it for free and the noise was gone.
