IMRC Opening

How do I actually know on my 97 LSC if the IMRC are opening up? Is it a "two barrel" setup like the older Marks? Will it throw a code if they aren't? Cars runs good but just doesn't seem to have that my 94 did. I have done full tune-up, fuel filter, new pump, chip. Am I not getting full throttle?

Thanks for your input.

RE: IMRC Opening

i would think it would throw a code, but i don't know. you can check to see if you're getting full throttle by having someone floor it and taking a look at the throttle body (make sure it's all the way open). Checking the IMRC's would be a bit more involved, and i'm not sure how you'd go about doing that.

The way the '97 shifts may be contributing a lot to the slower feeling. The gen 2's retard the timing to reduce power during the shifts, and have agonizingly slow, tranny-killing soft shifts. Best way to take care of that is with a chip or a dyno tune.
