Is a MarkVIII 4.6 longer or shorter than a pushrod?

I know our engines are considerably wider than a 302 or 351, but is it longer or shorter?

Would the 4.6 be a better option in a cramped engine bay (lengthwise (like a cab over utility van or a kit car))?

What about with a "shorty" water pump on the pushrod?

RE: Is a MarkVIII 4.6 longer or shorter than a pushrod?

Bumping this one time before I let it go, since I have no responses.

Not asking for exact measurments. I will be buying an extra 4.6 to temporarily(I want to keep original block in car) replace my original engine once it gets between 200,000 & 300,000 miles on it. Then I will rebuild my original, with some add punch in the HP area. Once I put it back in, I will have a spare engine to play with. One application I'm thinking of using it for has a cramped space lengthwise. If the 4.6 is longer than a crate engine pushrod, then I'll go with the pushrod. If it's the same or shorter I'll use the 4.6.

Any of you engine gurus have a clue off the top of your head?
