It Stinks

RE: It Stinks

Thanks Chris, that was in my mind but wanted to get some real advise. I guess after 57K they should be changed anyway right?

RE: It Stinks

mine are so far gone, you can smell the raw fuel and the mix being too rich when you are going down the raod with the windows open. The only thing is, Ihavent seen a Check engine light...

RE: It Stinks

Matt-
The car stinks like rotten eggs when I beat on it. The smell makes my throat burn sometimes! I might even need new cats as well as O2's!

RE: It Stinks

Ant,
I replaced both O2's when we did the tranny,
and my car still smells exactly as bad when I beat it.
The O2's did nothing for the rotten egg smell.
It is a maintenance item though at 100k miles I think.
Next step is get rid of the 3rd Cat when I can afford an exsaust.
I'm pretty sure thats the stinky one.
It's embaressing on a 1st date ! LOL

RE: It Stinks

Matt, just have Geno bang them out.It still passes the visual inspection. It only takes about an hour.Just unbolt the exhaust or cut it.Bang the snot out of the insides with a long pry bar and it all starts to fall out.

RE: It Stinks

if you can smell exhaust from inside the car while driving you may have a bad trunk seal or hole in the trunk somewhere especialy when you have the windows down
