Long Block Done

RE: Long Block Done

I have no idea why he put that there. I think he will regret it later, when the crank pully gets in the way of his oil return, not to mention the hose will be a lot longer than necessary and will not be a straight shot to the oil pan. Nothing but a rookie..

Nothing better than an AN oil return fitting standard !!!

Why did you go with the driver's side though ? Better clearance ?

I did this because I *may* need to put air injection parts there. I do not want a MIL. Joe doesn't know that because he doesn't know much about EEC-V cars. Rookie.:p The guy who installed that is the same guy that modded my Bassani headers. Excellent work.

So the engine is Hensler Racing built .020 over, stock crank, 4130 forged steel ultralight rods from Coast High Performance, Diamond racing -5cc pistons, .5g balance, ARP rod bolts(2000) and ARP main/head studs, Federal Mogul race bearings, billet oil pump gears, Fox Lake ported and polished heads (stock valves), new bronze valve guides, new Cobra seals, Crower springs and Ti retainers, SHM Blower grind on the cams(regrinds). James also wanted to put in the Cobra tensioners with the ratcheting mechanism and I didn't want to pay, so he put them in no charge. He does not like the rods, and he does not like gaskets other than Cometic. He also recommended a billet trigger wheel, which I declined.

RE: Long Block Done

Nice Eli! How long do you think it'll take to get her running?

You can shut off air injection in the computer. Mine is shut off. The other option is to leave the pump plugged in but don't hook it up to the exhaust. I ran that way for awhile without a MIL, but you could hear the pump running when i turned the car on.

RE: Long Block Done

Now that i have my chip i just have to go in and remove the pump. That should be another couple of pounds.

RE: Long Block Done

i took my air pump off my car and no mil came on for it. i also took bill G off his car and he had not mil either.

RE: Long Block Done

when i unplugged it before i got the chip i got a c/e light. I plugged it back in and it went away.
