Hey guys.

I am in the process of swapping a T-45 in to my Mark. I was directed over here by a guy over at markviii.org, He was telling me that you have some members over here that are preforming the same swap that I am. If so, speak up and we can hopefully help each other out. I'm getting pretty far into it, and am working out problems out as they come up. Anyway, any one else out there? :)

Thanks for your time. Mike

RE: Manual transmission Swap...New to this forum,

Me and another guy on here have been tossing around the idea. I've done a bit of research into what needs to be done, but i don't think i'm going to tackle it this year.

How far along are you on the swap? Any pics? Are you moving the EEC to the passenger side? What are you using for clutch components?

RE: Manual transmission Swap...New to this forum,

what are you going to do to relocate the shifter? Are you going to buy the shifter box extension, or are you going to make your own?

RE: Manual transmission Swap...New to this forum,

Making my own. I welded one up out of 1\4 inch aluminum. I did'nt like that one so I am having a new box fabricated out of billet. The internal shifter linkage is done, I'm just waiting on the box.

RE: Manual transmission Swap...New to this forum,

yeah I'd like to do this too, but it's just in the dream stage for me. I kind of want to go back to school (and not because Bush is telling us to "retrain" for the new economy) and I might just get another car that gets better mileage instead of spending money on the mark 8.

RE: Manual transmission Swap...New to this forum,

I was thinking i'd just use the shifter box mn12performance sells. http://www.mn12performance.com/mn12parts/shifterbox.html Although if i had access to the tools to make my own i'd probably go that route instead.

I'm interested in how the clutch works out and how much $$ you end up putting in this project. This is something i want to do, the only thing stopping me this winter is $$ (trying to buy a boat leaves little $$ for the car).

RE: Manual transmission Swap...New to this forum,

getting a stick mark on a dyno will show just how much power is lost through this pos 4r70w. It should be awesome to launch or shift where you want and downshift. total price writeup impressions and pics when you are done please.
