RE: Mark VIII's in Magazine again......

Congrats guys! Thats awsome! I'll have to go pick me up a copy!!

RE: Mark VIII's in Magazine again......

I saw the article, a friend of mine has the mag. One of my coworkers here is from Jersey and he was driving one of the Crown Vics (his friends car, with the blower, drivers name is Charlie Han if you have the magazine). He said that they weren't counting people's first runs, and the track / temperature was getting worse all day long. He said his best run was a 14 flat and all that made it into the mag was a 14.3.

Did you guys have the same problem, with your best runs not being counted?

RE: Mark VIII's in Magazine again......

Dave,
Truthfully I don't remember because they didn't give out any time slips.
I was more concerned about trying to get my NOS to work, and working on my launching as I hadn't driven on a track in 15 yrs.
And yes the times got MUCH slower as the day went on because I was freakin HOT and HUMID that day.

RE: Mark VIII's in Magazine again......

matt, just go to www.hotrod.com and click on the pump gas drag link, i am not sure how much info is there but the entry form is in this months issue of hotrod you can use mine if you want i can scan mine and e mail it to you(if they allow photo copies) or I can snail mail it to you.would like to see someone here give it a shot, they are going to choose 50 cars and I am sure they would pick one of the Lincolns just for the fact of originality, not to mention I like to see some whoop a** on some f bodies and mopars!LOL well let me know

"STRIP LOG
Run # ET/MPH
1 13.80 at 101.49
2 14.12 at 101.88
3 14.64 at 95.16
4 14.77 at 95.77"

Matt that NOS had to have been working...
You do not gain 6mph and .7-.9 seconds out of nowhere with a NOS system that is not working. Granted you should have gained more with the 100 shot but that is the kind of gains I saw with the 80 shot. I went from 14.1 @ 101 to 13.4 @ 106.5's with the 80.
Hopefully you can get to the track and get some more numbers.

The bottle ws dead beat and one of the wires to arm the bottle was grounding out somewhere.

Taking a look at the runs, it looks like it ran dry. LOL

It did.

In the Pits when Matt took Walt for a NOS Pass in the pit lanes. Then the selenoid wire was grounding out somewhere.

It was a LOOONG Nighte before the Event and it was very rushed. Next year's issue it will be Flying.

Man I am not a rocket scientist but you cannot jsut pull 6mph, (roughly 60 hp) like that. It had to come from somwhere..... like maybe a big blue bottle.

Think what you want, thats cool that's your opinion.

Dennis from here on the board (DENNISMK8) in bad sticky weather went 13.87 @ 99.95 all night at Atco and was roughly 85 lbs Heavier too.

Thats right where this car should be with these kinds of Mod's on Motor.
We had far better conditions at the MM&FF Event then Dennis had.

We did play with Matt's fuel pressure and let it cool for a LONG time before the best run of the day.
