My 1993 Mark VIII

RE: My 1993 Mark VIII

Your car is a modern day chopped and lowered, mail slot windowed, '49 merc in black primer with caddilac hub caps and a flame kit. Wide white walls! In other words it looks raw! By the way, anyone got a mark with a flame kit on it? That would be bad azz!

That looks very slick. It's rare I see nice use of those huge rims and low profile tires. You have done a great job making it look aggresive, modern yet refined at the same time.

RE: My 1993 Mark VIII

So how did you manage to fix that damn heater core. Man I love those rims, but my ride is so rough on 18s already... Awsome car kale.

50blackbird - no I don't have cutouts in my bumper (yet). Although I do have the LSC bumper ready to go on which does have cutouts. My tips are about 2" from centering the LSC bumper cut outs, so I'm gonna have to have the exhaust modified to get the tips to come out correctly.

I didn't actually fix the heater core yet. I just installed a "jumper" to bypass the HC. I was just trying to get the car to a point where it could be moved back to my house where I could work on it, but it looks like it may just stay this way throughout the end of summer.

I've been eyeing the local autotrader for Marks and it's ridiculous what you can get these cars for now. I may be picking another one up if I can find that killer deal. :)

What size tires are you running Max???

Chances are, my sidewall is very close in size. I have no ride complaints on 20s, but the roads are pretty good around here too.

With a 245mm section width, and a 40 series tire, the sidewall ends up being 3.8" (40 percent of 245mm). Even with a 245/45/18 up front, you're only gaining 1/2" in sidewall. I think you'd need to be running 275s all around AND 45 series tires to justify improved ride quality. That ends up being about and inch taller. IMHO, the front tire size is most important.

I'm gonna run a 35 series tire up front next time around to see what kind difference it makes.

RE: My 1993 Mark VIII

Well, I'm running 245/45/18 upfront and 275/40/18 runflats out back.... but the rear is what troubles me, it is perhaps my 1 3/8s sway bar.
